Affenwurst, Büffelhüfte, smirten – sprechen Jugendliche wirklich so? Redet man vom Sprachverfall, so wird meist die Jugend als abschreckendes Beispiel genannt: Angeblich sei sie der Grammatik und Orthographie nicht kundig, habe Ausdrucksschwächen und ein mangelndes Sprachgefühl, auch Vulgärjargon und Fäkalsprache werden kritisiert. Dabei zeigen Heranwachsende durchaus eine Vorliebe für bildliche Ausdrucksweisen, witzige Redensarten und Sprachspiele. Die Sprache Jugendlicher bietet generell ein äußerst vielfältiges und buntes Bild, weshalb die Präsentation neuer jugendtypischer Ausdrucksweisen z. B. durch Publikationen vieler Wörterbücher der Szene- bzw. „Jugendsprache“ stets als beliebter Gesprächsstoff gilt
