Annotation
To be honest, I still have not come across a clear-cut English translation for the word "yeon-hui", so for the time being. I have used the expression "Korean Traditional Dramatic Entertainments" in an effort to conserve the meaning of "yon (drama)"and "hui (entertainments)". Nam Sang-suk is adjunct professor of Korean National University of Arts. She received her doctorate in the history of Korean arts at the Academy of Korean Studies in 1997. Publications include Akhak kwebo˘m u˘i akcho yo˘n

The book "A Thousand Hands of Compassion" unites all the main aspects of Korean Buddhist thought. Master Seon Dehan Avalokiteshvar leads to the idea that the Bodhisattva of Compassion does not exist separately from our inner nature of the Buddha, and the thousands of hands of Avalokiteshvara are a manifestation of the enlightened compassion inherent in all of us

Annotation
Korea has a proud tradition of astronomy that has been treasured for thousands of years. Koreans in the past were thorough in observing all things that happened on the earth and in the sky and leaving records of them. Such activities are the basics of natural sciences that are necessary for the survival of humankind, and the expansion of knowledge. The book is designed to raise awareness about astronomical achievement despite a lack of interest in the value of traditional sciences, in which the many astronomy-related relics and vast observation records produced with effort over the past 2,000 years have yet to be put in proper order.

As the American century draws to an uneasy close, Philip Roth gives us a novel of unqualified greatness that is an elegy for all our century`s promises of prosperity, civic order, and domestic bliss. Roth's protagonist is Swede Levov, a legendary athlete at his Newark high school, who grows up in the booming postwar years to marry a former Miss New Jersey, inherit his father`s glove factory, and move into a stone house in the idyllic hamlet of Old Rimrock. And then one day in 1968, Swede's beautiful American luck deserts him
