Die Zeitschrift des Deutschen und Oesterreichischen Alpenvereins war ein seit 1872, nach dem Zusammenschluss der Alpenvereine, erschienenes Jahrbuch des Deutschen und Oesterreichischen Alpenvereins. Sie ging aus dem zuerst 1865 veröffentlichten Jahrbuch des Oesterreichischen Alpenvereins, und der von 1870 bis 72 erschienenen Zeitschrift des Deutschen Alpenvereins hervor. Im Gegensatz zu den Mittheilungen des Deutschen und Oesterreichischen Alpenvereins, einer von Theodor Petersen seit 1875 herausgegebenen periodischen Publikation für Nachrichten mit aktuellerem Bezug und Vereinsangelegenheiten, beschrieb die Zeitschrift auf meist hohem wissenschaftlichem Niveau die Erforschung und Erschließung der Gebirge.
