Magnum photographers are among the best in the world, and fortunately for us and for history, a lot of them were in New York City on Sept.11. The photo agency had brought several of them into town for a meeting the day before. Many of these highly experienced photojournalists raced to the site or to other spots in the city when they heard or saw the planes hit the towers, and our knowledge of the disaster is so much deeper for their efforts. Together, through their different personal lenses, they’ve compiled an important historical record of the attack and its effects on the city. This book is a wonderful collection of pictures

The story takes place in the late 20th century in the medical clinic of the National Atomics Products plant in Kimberly, Missouri. There, the senior physician, Roger Ferrell, and his younger assistant, Jenkins, deal with the occasional case of radiation exposure and trauma suffered by the plant's `Atomjacks'. Things are not looking up for the atomic products industry; a serious accident at a Croton, New York plant has turned public opinion against locating the plants close to inhabited areas. And even as the National Atomics Products plant prepares for a visit by an oversight committee, an employee is injured in an accident, further tarnishing the public perception of nuclear power and its promotion as a safe source of energy

- Inequalities in Mexico
Annotation
This book examines the relationship between equity and growth in Mexico. The central thesis is that Mexico’s poor growth performance of the last twenty five years is intimately linked to inequity. Specific inequalities in power, wealth, and status have created and sustained economic institutions and polices that both tend to perpetuate these inequalities and are sources of inefficiencies and lack of dynamism in the economy.
