“Temples of Korea” has recently been published, in conjunction with the Publication Support Program of the Korea Foundation. Along with featuring the 17 most prominent Buddhist temples in Korea, this book also describes Buddhism’s influence on the history of Korea and its significance to the spiritual realm of the Korean people. The book begins with a general introduction to Buddhism in Korea, with an outline of its fundamental principles. In particular, it provides in-depth descriptions of Korea’s 17 best-known Buddhist temples, which are located throughout the country. By taking a leisurely journey to each of these temple sites, readers will be exposed to a diverse array of Korea’s cultural characteristics, including traditional Korean architecture, sculpture, painting, and handicrafts, as well as Buddhist thought. The book also includes a glossary of basic Buddhist terminology.

"This book is about the history of interaction among Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in China and Korea, and the ways in which each respective religion and/or philosopher merged the others together. Through it, author was able to learn that genuine thinkers are able to combine the three religious doctrines together according to their independent views and unconventional patterns of thought. In addition to a comprehensive overview of Chinese religious history, for greater depth of research author focused on the teachings of Gang Jeungsan, a great spiritual master of modern Korea. For the same reason that Gang Jeungsan is acknowledged as one of the great syncretists of Korean religious history, his views are often criticized as being an amorphous hodgepodge of various philosophies.
