This book attempts to address historical matters and other aspects of Korean music. This volume is an essay collection of studies written in English from the articles appearing in the academic journals and papers at the International Symposium such as Asia Pacific Society for Ethnomusicology and other Korean musicology symposiums. The purpose of this publication is primarily to introduce the major components of Korean traditional music and Korea musicology to English, Chinese and Japanese speaking scholars. The 18 articles included in this volume are divided into five parts.
