On July of 2009, total quantity of printed editions is– 570731 units of issue, including:

  • In state language – 116 947 units;
  • In Russian – 413 606 units;
  • In other languages – 40 178 units.

Within the limits of the international Congress of reading (April, 2007.) Russians have presented NABRK more than two thousand books including the All-Russian State library of the foreign literature - 400 books, the State public scientific and technical library - 126 books, the State library on art - 752 books, Parliamentary library of Russia - 610 books, and also books from publishing house " Mir Dialogue " and the Russian subscription Agency " МК the Periodicals ". Among the Kazakhstan publishing houses which have filled up funds of NAB RK publishing houses from Almaty "Aris", "Daik-press", "Zhazushi", " Kazakparat ", " Olke " " Oner ", " Raritet KZ ", "Foliant", "Economy", publishing house of Astana " Astana Damu 21 ", public fund " Musaget " (Almaty), " the House of book of Abai " (the representative from "Атамура" corporation, Astana), " Institute of legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan " (Astana). Thus, from publishing houses of Kazakhstan, NAB RK have 900 books. In total 17 establishments like publishing houses have and the book-selling organizations of Kazakhstan taken part in work of the International Congress of reading.

On April, 11th of 2008 within the limits of a week of partnership " NATO and Kazakhstan " NABRK opening of depository library of NATO took place. The special representative of the Secretary general of NATO across the Central Asia and Caucasus - Robert Simmons in the salutatory speech has noted, that " Week of partnership of NATO-Kazakhstan " has brought the important contribution to comprehension by the Kazakhstan public of partner policy of NATO and has strengthened cooperation between NATO and Kazakhstan. Opening depository library in NABRK will promote forward development of cooperation between NATO and Kazakhstan in humanitarian sphere ".

The first informational materials of depository library of NATO became " Directory of NATO " in which the all-round analysis of development of NATO down to autumn of 2005 is presented, brochures on activity of NATO - " NATO-Russia. Partnership in spirit of a pragmatism ", " the Briefing of NATO ", " NATO after RIGI " and " News of NATO " bulletin.

In future NATO will send multimedia materials and publications which will be accessible to the broad audience of readers of NABRK.

In the department of the world literature new receipt of books from publishing houses: Oxford, Cambridge, Makmillan, Longman: various methodical textbooks on training and development of English language, a wide range of dictionaries on various branches - the dictionary on business, law, computer, medicine, pronunciation, idioms, slang, chemistry, religion, accounts department and others.

In general reading hall the most interesting, most intriguing, most improbable information about the Universe, the Earth, the world of wildlife, great people, the physical and chemical phenomena and about many other things is presented in books and encyclopedias.

In the hall of art there are more than 140 most interesting books about art, painting. architecture, design, creativity of outstanding figures of cinema, theatre, opera and ballet. For readers there is big spectrum of magazines about art.

In the hall of periodicals more than 1500 titles of Kazakhstan and Russian periodicals are presented to attention of users of NABRK. All of them are for the broad audience of readers. These are popular political magazines " Continent ", "Akikat", "Misl", "Sayasat", " the Eurasian community ", informational-methodical magazines - " the Open school "," Creative pedagogics "," Management in formation " and the information-methodical collection "Daryn", scientific-methodical editions for school teachers, " poor complete school ", "Teacher-methodologist", " Rural school "," Technology at school "," the Teacher and the law ", "Faculty meeting", literary and art editions: " Eurasia "," Niva "," Appolinary "," Prostor "," Amanat " and others. In March, 2005 new republican social-political magazine " Bayterek " and scientific-popular magazine " Free society "appeared. We receive such editions as " the Analyst "," Kazakhstan the Spectrum " From institute of strategic researches.

In the hall of the periodical press bulletins-khabarshy of all republican academies are widely presented. For example, " Bulletin of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi " (all series); " The Bulletin of National Engineering academy of the republic of Kazakhstan "; " the Bulletin of Academy of Pedagogical sciences "; " the Bulletin of “Turan” University ", " Bulletin of Zhetisu State University named after I.Zhansugurov ";" the Bulletin of the Kazakh University of means of communication ";" the Bulletin of transport and communications named after M.Tynishpayev ";" the Bulletin of the Kazakhstan-American Free University ";" the Bulletin of “Kainar” University ", and also magazine of the International Kazakhstan-Turkish University named after A.Yassaui.

Also there are magazines of higher educational institutions of Russia: " the Bulletin of the Moscow State University " (all series); " Bulletin NAUFOR "; " the Bulletin of Academy of military sciences "; " the Bulletin of Technical University named after N.E.Bauman "; " the Bulletin of the Maximum Arbitration court of the Russian Federation "; " the Bulletin of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "; " Bulletin of MEI "; " the Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Science "; " News of Academies ", abstract magazines VINITI, etc.

In addition to printed sources it is possible to use electronic databases of periodicals department.
