On 18 September, 2009, in the hall “Dialogue”, National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, press-conference devoted to the beginning of the Action “One Country – One Book” took place.
The press-conference had the following participants: Tauekelov Sergazy Belgibaevich, Head of Department of Regional Development and Libraries, Committee on Culture, Ministry of Culture and Information RK, Usenbaev Zhumatai Berdibaevich, First Deputy Director General of NABRK, Muslimova Saule Gabdushevna, granddaughter of Aba Muslim, elder brother of the poet M.Zhumabaev, Suleimenov Zharasbai Kabdollinovich, member of Committee on Social-Cultural Development, Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Baigazin M.Zh., journalist, consultant, National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of organizing committee of the Action “One Country – One Book”.
On 21-25 September, 2009, the Action “One Country – One Book” will take place in Kazakhstan for the third time. Its aim is promoting books, high status of the Kazakh literature, preserving historical-cultural and spiritual heritage, moral-patriotic upbringing, and attracting new readers.
Libraries are centers of conducting the Action. Educational institutions, military units are involved into the Action. Altogether, more than 700 events are expected to be held in the libraries of the Ministry of Culture and Information system. Disabled people will participate in the Action. Events for disabled people will be held in all special libraries. For instance, an excellent room for disabled readers equipped with up-to-date devices operates in the National Academic Library of RK. On 22 September, at 11:00 am, an intellectual game “I am born from the Sun. I burn as the Sun” will be held. On 23 September, at 11:00 am, there will be a poetical marathon “Kazakh Eli, Bir Auyz Sozim Sagan…” in NABRK.
Methodical recommendations on the Action organization have been issued on the base of former experience. This textbook can be used by librarians, teachers, specialists, and those who are involved in cultural work. It presents forms of mass work among readers, programme “Reading is a Family Business”, regulations on the Action “One Country – One Book”. Broad information about M.Zhumabaev's life and creative work, bibliography and scenario of the party devoted to M.Zhumabaev's creative work are presented for this Action.
Book exhibitions about M.Zhumabaev's life and creative work are organized for the Action in NABRK. There is issued a hundred of colorful posters distributed in Astana schools and universities, medical clinics and centres, libraries, Republican Guard and etc.
Presentation of two publications took place at the press-conference: Book “Magzhan Alemi” – “Magzhan's World” and photo album “Zhuldyzdy-zhuzik, Aidy Alka Gyp Berein” – “Necklace – the Moon and Star on the Ring”. They both are devoted to M.Zhumabaev's life and creative work.
