On June 26, the second scientifically-practical conference “Cultural text of Astana” continued its work at the Eurasian National University by name of L.N.Gumilev. There was held “round table talk” “Social designing of reality: actual problems of modern city researches (from sociology to city metaphysics)” and also were summed up results of the conference with resolution acceptance.
During the “round table talk” “Social designing of reality: actual problems of modern city researches (from sociology to city metaphysics)” there was opinion exchange of scientists – representatives of various disciplinary approaches in city studying, in definition of its essence and mission. As it has been noted, in research of Astana and other cities, the most difficult and important is the question on the adequate verified methodology of the analysis as in a modern city it is difficult to allocate its dominating style or dominating function. In this connection participants of conference spoke about necessity of transition from quantitative methodology to qualitative, marked, as it is important to study daily changes in a life of a city with application of mass interrogation and expert interview. Also the development of Astana, its social space and visual perception has been considered stage-by-stage. D, doctorate of the Institute of social anthropology by name of Max Planck, Halle (Germany). The second international scientific-practical conference “Cultural text of Astana” finished its work. Tow days of conference, 25-26 of June, consisted of plenary meeting, “round table talk”, and discussion. There were organized six exhibitions. 102 reports of representatives of scientific and social groups of Kazakhstan, Russia, France, Poland, Germany, and Lithuania were listened. The work of conference in Astana was fruitful and was held in business atmosphere. Substantial reports were devoted to the various aspects of development of the capital of Kazakhstan: political, social, scientific, cultural life of Astana, its past time, present and the future.
“As architecture – the framework of a city, music – soul, that's why it's necessary to research music design of Astana, its acoustic space”, marked Doctor of Study of Art, professor of Kazakh National Academy of Music Dzhumakova U.R. in her report “Astana as the object of musical researches. Also slogans on billboards and posters have an important meaning in the formation of the appearance of Astana, in formation of inner civil mentality. For example, “Present a smile to Astana”, “With love, Astana”… All these expressions make capital more open, progressive; help to bring up the sense of pride for the capital, for Kazakhstan…
Director of Administration on Language Development of Astana Asangazy O. marked the importance of conference in research of Astana and acquainted with the work of onomastic commission. According to the resolution of Akimat, Astana city and determination of Maslihat in 2006 there were renamed 113 streets, and in 2007 145 streets took new names. New names of streets: Karatau, Edil, Aspara, Merki, Ayagoz…etc. Streets and avenues of the capital were named in honor of historical figures and events: Kultegin, Asankaigy, Ybyrai Altynsarin, Agybai batyr, Anyrakai, Bulanty etc.

Candidate of Philology Sciences, acting of associate professor of the “Political Science” Department of South-Kazakhstan State University by name of M.O. Auezov Korganova S.S. considered Astana as the centre of social-political events. She marked that during short period Astana became the key brend of the country, the showcase of social and economic successes of Kazakhstan.
Today we can say that Astana passed considerable way, on which the capitals of other countries spent centuries. Astana became the centre of economic development, cultural dialogue, international and interconfessional relations.
Work of international conference “Cultural text of Astana” showed once more that Astana is opened for researches, and creative comprehensions. Here are decisions which were accepted in resolution by participants of forum:
- To express support to the basic strategic priorities of a policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of development of Astana and its representations on the international level
- To recommend to scientists to expand a disciplinary field of studying of a phenomenon of Astana and to strengthen interdisciplinary communications in the field of carrying out of modern city researches
- To enter into tradition carrying out of scientifically-practical conference «Cultural text of Astana» as conference of the international level, as the conference promotes comprehension not only Astana as capital and a vision of the further prospects of its development, but also representation it in world cultural space, and also as a whole to actualization of a agendas of a life of the City.
