On May 25, 2009 in the National Academic Library of RK there took place the presentation of the book “Abai: Difficulty of flight” from biographical series “The life of remarkable people”.
The participants of the presentation were the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Abrarovich Kul-Muhammed, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, famous Kazakhstani writers, figures of culture, and journalists.
The author of the book “Abai” is the famous Russian writer, critic, expert in literature, editor-in-chief of the publishing “Kultura”, professor of Moscow state University by name of M.V.Lomonosov, Doctor of Philological Sciences Nikolai Arkadjevich Anastasjev. From his book: “Abai is not only son of his nation, but he is interlocutor of Goethe and Pushkin, Shakespeare and Decartes, on a level with them he is a member of pantheon of great figures of world culture”. During the presentation Minister Mukhtar Abrarovich Kul-Muhammed presented to the Russian expert honorable title “Madeniet kairatkeri”.
N.A.Anastasyev is the specialist in the field of American Literature of XX century, the author of the more than 20 monographs and more than thousand articles. In his works he turns constantly to the bright events of world literature. Works of Anastasyev were published in Russia, the USA and a lot of other countries of Europe. The most famous are: “Phenomenon of Nabokov”, “Creative work of Ernest Hemingway”, “Faulkner”, “Owner of Yoknapatof”, “The sky in the flower bud: Abdizhamil Nurpeisov and his books in the world literary scenery”. N.A.Anastasyev is also the author of biographical book about classic of Kazakhstani literature, the researcher of the creative work of Kazakh poet and enlightener Abai – Mukhtar Auezov for series “The life of remarkable people”.
Series of biographical and artistically-biographical books “The life of remarkable people” was founded in 1890 by the Russian enlightener F.F.Pavlenkov (1839-1900) and renewed in 1933 by the initiative of M.Gorky. In 1938 series were passed to the authority of the publishing house “Molodaya Gvardiya”. Since then the publishing of series never stopped, even at the years of the Great Patriotic War.
Every year in the series of “The life of remarkable people” there published 20-30 biographical books. Contents of these are conformed to satisfy to three main principles, proclaimed by the editorial board in 50th years of XX century – scientific reliability, high literary level and entertainment. The general number of series “The life of remarkable people” today is more than 100 million books.
There was exhibition in the NAB RK organized to the presentation “Men de bir zhumbak adammyn, ony da oila” (Abai) – “Sink to the depth of your heart” (Abai).
