Exhibition "New format of libraries"

The significant attention in work of the Meeting is given to an experience exchange, professional dialogue of young librarians. . With this purpose the exhibition “New format of libraries” will take place in National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There will be presented 16 stands, which open up-to-date directions of National Academic Library's activity.

List of stands:

Stand 1

"Potential of young" - an exhibition of winners' works of competition of library works. The best works in nominations “Professional articles ", "Scientific work", "Projects", "Library activities" will be presented.

Stand 1/A

"An exhibition of works of regional libraries". At the exhibition the best samples of works of regional, city, district libraries, achievements, projects - everything, that the region can be proud with, will be presented.

Stand 1/B

"To the 10th anniversary of Astana" - an exhibition of archival materials from funds of the National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Stand 2

"Technologies of digitalizing" - demonstration of methods of digitalizing with a choice of functional fields, editing and granting of electronic images of documents. The mechanism of loading of electronic images of documents in electronic storehouse, through the formation of packages of documents with assignment to each package of corresponding attributes.

Stand 3

"The information on-line" - acquaintance with subscription full-text databases. The modern library is directed on gradual turn from development of mechanisms of possession by sources of the information to mechanisms of access, which means that to modern library is absolutely unessential to subscribe for all newspapers and magazines and to buy all books. It is enough to provide access of readers to already generated electronic sources of the information - scientific full-text databases.

"The virtual librarian" – description of electronic services: Electronic delivery of documents (books, copies of articles from newspapers and magazines) from funds of the largest libraries of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad - edd@nabrk.kz;

Stand 5

"Cultural heritage of Kazakhstan" - an exhibition of books published within the limits of the State program "Cultural heritage". Within the limits of the program it is published more than 300 names of books, including the book from a series "Babalar sozy ", "Library of the world literature", "the Philosophical heritage of Kazakh people since the most ancient times up to now", " World culturological idea " and a number of other series. Also are published the popular encyclopedic dictionary "Republic of Kazakhstan" on Kazakh, English and Russian languages, "The dictionary of synonyms of the Kazakh language", "the Spelling dictionary", and many other things.

Stand 6

"Through the centuries" - the Exhibition of rare books. At the exhibition will be presented the rare, having common cultural and scientific importance, from funds of Scientific library of the Eurasian National University named after L.N.Gumileva "Otyrar kytapkhanasy".

Stand 7

"A way of the reader and the book. Automatization" - demonstration of a basic cycle of service of readers in the automated mode: from acquisition, cataloguing of resources and system of bar coding up to " Registration of readers " with release of plastic reader's cards with a bar code on the basis of program software "RALIS" - the Republican Automated Library-Informational System.

Stand 8

"KazNEB - Electronic State Library Fund (ESLF)" - innovational project of Kazakhstan's libraries. The Primary aim is creation of the uniform electronic catalogue and providing reliable centralized storage of electronic documents with combination of convenient access - both with local, and from the removed computers.

Stand 9

"Adaptive technologies" - demonstration of opportunities of service unmobile readers - tiflocomplexes: computers with Bryle displays, reading book scanners, the stationary magnifiers increasing the text, Bryle printer and the specialized software. For people with hearing disorder - small audioclass, allowing to support speech skills. Modern MP3 players for listening audiobooks for blind, have come instead of tiflotaperecorders.

Stand 10

"modern theme - nano technologies" - an exhibition of the newest literature. nano-technologies are the technologies operating in nano sizes. It is insignificant small size, in hundred times smaller lengths of a wave of visible light and comparable to the sizes of atoms. Many speak about nano-technologies as about scientific and technical revolution, but very little knows, what is it. Developers of an exhibition will try to answer all questions.

Stand 11

"Library professional editions" - acquaintance to Kazakhstan and Russian professional magazines "Kitapkhana", " the World of libraries ", "Bulletin of BAE", "Library science" and etc., meeting with editors-in-chief of magazines "Kitapkhana" and "Young in library business".

Stand 12

"Librarians of Kazakhstan" - presentation of BARK's new project - creation of a site about librarians of Kazakhstan with BD "100 young", "Who is who in libraries of Kazakhstan", "Successful projects".

Stand 13

"Last word of technics" - demonstration of application of the newest technological achievements in library processes: the automated transport system of the type "telelift", allowing in as much as possible short terms to provide delivery of the documents ordered by users from book-depositories to delivery centers in reading rooms. System of automation of work of library works on the basis of technology of radio-frequency identification (RFID).

Stand 14

"A ladder of success" - acquaintance with study programs of library business abroad: various foreign postdegree stipendial programs which resources can use young librarians with a purpose of development new, concepts, technologies of information service in modern conditions.

Stand 15

"A new wave - or Theatre of one librarian”. At the stand delegates of a meeting are offered "to try on" on themselves as much as possible technologies of creation of an image, to feel importance of oratorical skill, actor's skills in such complex business, as self-presentation and career growth. Delegates are offered in 2-3 minutes to tell performance about themselves in all accessible ways, using (and without) music, schedules, groups of support, etc...

“Interactive technologies of studying state language” – an exhibition with participation of the Republican center of the accelerated training to a state language.
