 Seeds of wisdom have grown up in XXI century

The ministry of culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, under the initiative of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Library Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the first time in Kazakhstan beginning from 24 till 30 of September 2007 has leaded the Action " One country - one book " which purpose is development of the program of promotion of reading, support of literacy and culture of reading, preservation of a spiritual heritage, careful attitude to the native language, and also moral and patriotic education of youth.

Simultaneously this Action is called to promote further increasement of society's interest to reading in general, and kazakh literature in particular, both classics, and the modern literature and poetry.

By the results of interrogation among workers of educational sphere and libraries, under numerous responses and offers of readers, the book for national reading named " Words of edification " of well-known kazakh poet and writer – Abai Kunanbayev.

Chairman of organizing committee of the Action is the National writer of Kazakhstan, the Winner of State premium of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the poet – Fariza Ungarsynovna.

The beginning of the action, with an appeal to citizens to choose the book for reading by all country, has been declared by National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the end of March 2007., before the international Congress of Reading. For participation in the Action were considered books, that reflect universal and national ideas of humanism, historical and cultural traditions, historical roots and modern development of the countries.

The solemn announcement of the book took place on 6^th of July, of 2007 in Birthday of Astana city at VII International festival of poetry - " Abai's day " with participation of well-known Russian and Kazakhstan poets and writers. It is symbolical, that the book of the action " One country - one book " - " Words of edification " of Abai has been declared at VII International festival of poetry devoted to Abai Kunanbayev.

In spite of the fact that since the times of Abai has passed many years, and numerous generations were replaced, " Words of edification " today are actual as never, they are a reference point in a life for each of us. In this work the most different themes are captured, such are - history of Kazakhstan, love to Fatherland, culture, national psychology, philosophy of a life, at last ethics of relations between people.
