A great stupendous weapon of multilateral education is reading, it includes or printed book, either e-book. We can not receive really knowledge without reading, it's impossible.

Today the National Library is a cultural and educational centre not only in Astana, also in all Kazakhstan. Students, post-graduates, scientists and specialists open new horizons of scientific cognition. We have a good chance to use broad fund of the National Library, to receive an article by electronic delivery of documents, fragments of books from Russian State Library, and use various databases. The most perfectly unique acquisition is bibliographical notes' database of “Book Chamber” company. It includes bibliographical descriptions of books and periodical issues published from 1918 to1945. There are special database in electronic catalogue for these notes which called “Retrospective bibliography”. We use encyclopedias “Kirilla and Mefodia” (http://mega.km.ru) with rich collection of textual, video, audio and graphical information, also database “Integrum”, “Scientific Electronic Library”, EBSCO, Springer. The full index of databases on which we have an access are given in library site (http://www.nabr.kz), on section of databases.

Reader's possibility of having a more information in time increased thank to the service of Kazakhstan Electronic National Library that created on base of NABRK. It is so comfortable and effective! Firstly, you can receive a library ticket number. Secondly, you can order necessary book to any department you want, and then you can show electron version of books which published in Kazakhstan. There are presented some subject directories “Full textual books of Kazakhstan libraries' fund”, “Rare books”, “Cultural Heritage”, “Catalogue of NABRK”.

E-books which published by program “Culture Heritage” help students and specialists of social science faculty of ENU by name of L.N.Gumilev.

There are content of the e-book which helps to look through all title and to choose necessary page, it is for accommodation of readers. And there are very comfort service which calls “to order a bookmark”, that is to say today you can order a bookmark and return and get it any time you want. Another service is “Private office”. This service is widespread on databases and libraries where user creates his file “Selected” and puts together all books so as not to search again and again.

This service is one of the most prevalent in databases and digital libraries, where the user creates his collection «Selected» and adds there are books that have attracted the attention of the portal, in order not to make them search every time. Also in his personal office displays all types of online orders ever made you.

Another service is an electronic order necessary book fragment to their e-mail. If there isn't the book in electronic form on the portal, a copy can be ordered through the service «electronic booking».

I have a large library of experience in different libraries, both domestic and foreign. National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty), in the library of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, the Russian State Library, State Historical Library, the library INION (Moscow), State Public Library by name of Saltykov-Shchedrin (St. Petersburg), and libraries of Tomsk, Kazan State University (Tomsk, Kazan, Russia), and was able to work in libraries of Hungary and the United States, in particular the Central European, Indianskom and Yale universities, the Library of Congress and others. As they say, there is what to compare. Today we can bravely say that the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan meets all modern requirements of an electronic book store.

Also I want to mention a bright library project to support the reading campaign «One country, one book». With great pleasure the department of history teachers in Kazakhstan ENU by name of L.N.Gumilev, as well as historians, students took part in the action in 2007, devoted to reading “Words edification” of Abay. We were the initiators and moderators of the roundtable on the theme “The evolution of the steppe of knowledge: from historiology to historiography”. As part of the roundtable was a presentation of “history book in Central Asia, XIII-XIX centuries”. I wish creative successes and interesting findings to the staff of library on Action “One country, one book” and this year! Moreover, it is devoted to my favourite Kazakh poet M. Zhumabayev, the tragic fate which my essay is dedicated to, which lay out on the official site of the library.

Congratulating the staff of the library with the anniversary, I wish everyone who supports and promotes the electronic storage of Kazakhstan financing, creative increasing, reader interest!
