It's obvious that library is one of the fundamental bases of information society. Internet can not replace the abilities of the big library. The National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan – that structure, which enlarges the possibilities of every person who is the reader of this library. Being a historian, I can say that the access to the collection of biggest libraries is of big importance. Last epoch, for example, 1980, (when we were students) it realized via inter-library exchange system. That time the needed book transferred from one library to another via post. Of course, It was really convenient, as we can get books “from hands to hands” from libraries of other Republics. Then this system came to the end, and inter-library information exchange became really difficult.

But library system did not stop, and during ten years, there happened the really burst in inter-library cooperation between CIS countries, that positively reflected on intensity of scientific researches. I mean, the Electronic Document Delivery via the National Academic Library from the collections of the biggest Russian Libraries (Russian State Library, Public Historical Library – in Moscow, Russian National Library – in Petersburg). Now we have a chance to order the concrete parts from needed books. It is important that we can order fragments not only from modern but from rare publications.

Or example, the circle of my interests connect with problem of Eurasianship and the history of social-politic thought, which requires to address to first sources, to the books published in XIX and XX centuries. Now it is possible via Electronic Document Delivery, but before had to fly to Moscow. Also library has equipment for reading of microfiches and microfilms, which are very valuable for historians. Also I should say about the access to the Databases, to the digitalized scientific libraries, which are accessible for the reader of NAB RK – it is also very important and operative service, which last years was just dream.

That's why I rate the abilities of the library highly and thank its qualified, attentive and benevolent librarians!

Which offers do you have? For example, when you order 15 pages delivery and when you have a big order. May be it should be discussed the system of different discounts for the order more than 100-150 pages. It will be really convenient, if via NAB RK we can order electronic delivery of needed documents from the collections of the archives of CIS countries.

In a hole, the fact of the National Academic Library creation in Astana is the show of concern of the country leadership about science workers. It is really pleasure to come to and work in the beautiful building of library..

I should recognize that also in XXI century the scientific sphere without libraries is impossible.
