5 years NALRK

On 23rd of April the National Academic Library will celebrate the 5 years anniversary. We invite our readers to Day of Open Doors. There will be fascinating excursions, meeting with famous Kazakhstani writers, different exhibitions – “Gallery of Achievements”, “The Modern Theme - Nanotechnologies”. You have a chance to be the participant of the presentation of new books, to visit “round table talk” “The lyric of Magzhan Zhumabayev”. You can get acquainted with the abilities of the National Electronic Library – KazNEB. All libraries of Kazakhstan are the participants of the formation of this library.

The history of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan is closely connects with the formation of the new capital Astana as the intellectual centre of country. Today at the disposal of readers there are half million books, 1500 titles of Kazakhstani, foreign periodicals and various electronic information. Services for readers – electronic catalogue, electronic document delivery, virtual reference service.

The publishing output of library - the book “Outlines of the history of Kazakhstani Internet”, scientific-methodical magazine “Kitaphana”, special output of magazine “Youth in librarianship”, collection of scientific articles “Library researches in Kazakhstan”, collections of reports of scientific-practical conferences.

Striking events of library during five years are International Congress of Reading, Republican Action “One country – one book”, first Forum of Young Librarians of Kazakhstan, International Conference “Cultural text of Astana”, International scientific Lectures from the cycle “Scientists of MGU make a speech”, automobile run “Library salute to Astana”.
