On April 2, 2019 at 15.00 o’clock in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan held presentation of I. Zhansugurov’s book «Kulager» in English. In this year it is celebrated 125 years from birth of I. Zhansugurov. It is the first translation of «Kulager» poem to the English, which presented to international reader almost disappeared Kazakh nomad culture as well as traditions and customs of the Kazakhs. Fund of Iliyas Zhansugurov addressed to a famous English poet-translator Belinda Cooke, who is popular by her translations of Pasternak, Mandelshtam and Tsvetayeva and period, in which Iliyas Zhansugurov created his works. However, in this case the translation is made exclusively from Kazakh original to a lineal translation, on which was working team of translators-consultants, who knew deeply Kazakh as well as English languages, and then poetic form and metaphorical sounding was transmitted by Belinda Cooke. Sponsor of edition became National translation service, aim of which was expansion of accessibility of the best examples of Kazakh literature and culture of international audience. During a presentation, it took place video link with author of translation Belinda Cooke, consultants from Netherlands and Great Britain, professors of turkology, philology from USA, Turkey, Kazakhstan, who shared with own opinion, among which were Uli Schamiloglu, Gabriel McGuire, who were able to compare translation of book with it’s original, and also linguists and historians evaluated meaning of poem for Kazakhstan and world community. The presentation held in a frame of practical realization of Presidential program article «Seven Facets of the Great Steppe».
